Design and installation of aeration systems for hydropower, water supply reservoirs and other applications
Logan Martin Lake, Alabama
Logan Martin Hydroelectric Dam
Located in Vincent Alabama, in Calhoun, St. Clair, and Talladega counties, Logan Martin Dam is managed by Alabama Power Company
Named for William Logan Martin, Jr., a former judge and Alabama Attorney General
Construction of the gravity concrete and earth fill dam began in 1960, and was brought into service in 1964, creating a 17,000 acre reservoir
Logan Martin lake is formed by the Neely Henry Dam to the north, and the Logan Martin Dam to the south, containing the waters of the Coosa River and it's tributaries. This 48 mile stretch of water has 275 miles of shoreline
Mobley Engineering installed three "U" shaped diffusers, and four line diffusers, with a total of 20,140 feet of supply lines (including trench pipe), and 22,636 linear feet of diffusers
One of numerous pipe deliveries.....when all was said and done, there was over 20 linear miles of pipe to weld together
Moving the pipe up the trench to the LOX site and tying into the manifold
The vaporizers and liquid oxygen tanks being installed
Why yes, it does snow in Alabama!
Launching one of the seven diffusers....the weather didn't alway cooperate
A very early morning deployment of one of the diffusers -- this is what we like to see -- bubbles on the surface!
