Once again,
Spring found us in
the lovely little city of
Campbell, California -- within
walking distance to some
fabulous places to eat!
Located in Santa Clara County,
and part of Silicon Valley,
(in the San Francisco Bay area),
there is so much to explore...
| |
The Historic city of Campbell is very walkable, and has a wide variety of restaurant offerings. Here are the ones at the top of our list....

Opa! is not to be missed!! This is THE place for authentic Greek cuisine. You must try the Saganaki (flaming grilled Kasseri cheese), and yell "opa" when it's brought to your table. Their website is: www.opaauthenticgreek.com -- go there!
|
"Within all of us is a thirst which cannot be quenched with merely water..." Welcome to Liquid Bread Gastropub -- if it's amazing food made with local ingredients you crave, or an awesome beer list (or both), this is the place! Look at their menu: www.liquidbread.campbell.com

| So many activities to pursue in the region....Of course, prospecting for gold is a must in California, so off to Sanora, CA we went...

Not too far away (and a beautiful drive to boot) is Capitola Village by the Sea. Situated in the heart of the Monterey Bay, is this quaint and colorful seaside village. There are numerous shops and galleries to peruse, and a variety of eateries where you can sit outside and watch the ocean. Known as one of the oldest vacation retreats on the Pacific Coast, this is a great place to spend the day.

Ken even
rented a board
(on more than one occasion),
and practiced
his surfing!
|
A short drive from Capitola Beach is the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. This park preserves a 40-acre grove of the tallest tree species on earth. There is a short paved trail here that allows you to experience these majestic trees. Here you can see "The Giant" -- this redwood is over 17 feet wide, and almost as high as a 25-story building! You can learn more at www.parks.ca.gov

Near Los Gatos, CA (although somewhat tricky to find) is Castle Rock State Park. Located along the crest of the Santa Cruz Mountains, there are some beautiful overlooks, a large variety of trees, and some stunning rock formations. Great for a day hike....
|
Of course, this is Mobley Engineering, so there had to be some serious mountain biking going on!! Pictures and details will be posted as soon as I receive them....
|
And here are a few closing shots of Half Moon Bay, CA before we headed to the airport. Can't wait to visit and work on the west coast again.
